Raising the standard of behaviour therapy in Sri Lanka

The Behaviour Analysis Registration Board (BARB) is Sri Lanka’s regulatory body for behaviour therapy: certifying, guiding, and safeguarding professionals who transform lives through ethical, evidence-based care.

The Behaviour Analysis Registration Board

Trustworthy, Qualified, and Science-Led Care

At BARB, we believe therapy should be trustworthy, qualified, and science-led. That’s why we exist; to ensure every therapist practising behaviour therapy in Sri Lanka meets the standards of care that individuals and families deserve.

Certify

We certify behaviour therapists and analysts to ensure qualification standards.

Maintain

We maintain a verified therapist directory for public access.

Provide

We provide professional development and ethical oversight.

Advocate

We advocate for safe, effective, evidence-based support.

Behaviour Therapy:
Scientific. Applied. Individualised.

Behaviour therapy helps individuals—especially children—build the skills they need to thrive. Rooted in the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), it uses data-driven strategies to change behaviours that affect daily life, from social skills to emotional regulation.

Ethics & Regulation

Setting The Standard For
Ethical Behaviour Therapy

In the absence of regulation, anyone can call themselves a behaviour therapist. This leaves families vulnerable and the profession at risk.

That’s where BARB comes in. Our role is to set the standard, hold professionals accountable, and protect the people who rely on us.
